The Guadeloupean artist Max Cilla pulled off quite a show at the Les Villes du Monde Festival, held in Le Point Fort d’Aubervilliers on Friday, November 11th, 2022.
Accompanied by a band of percussionists, he made the crowd dance on Caribbean rhythms to the hypnotizing sound of his “flute des Mornes”.
Later on, he was joined by the griot and kora player Ali Boulo Santo Cissoko. The combination of intricate kora melodies and the soothing sound of the flute was a sure match. It was a pleasant discovery.
Pictures of the show are available below.
